Recently Esquire UK named us one of the eight best Game of Thrones websites. (Admittedly, the “best” part is in the article’s URL.)
Seriously, this is quite the honor — we are in rarefied company on that list. Thanks to everyone for reading, commenting, and contributing (especially Olga Hughes, Clare Cherry, Ross Wittenham, Steve Isaacs, and others for writing great articles). And, thank you Esquire!
Check out Esquire’s article here to see the other fantastic websites.

Congratulations Jamie! I am so glad all your hard work is paying off!

I knew it- and much more to come too! This is great Jamie, and really well deserved. xx

Martine, thank you! Your support means a lot. Seriously. I love how much you’ve been commenting lately. You’re so charming and have such a lovely presence.

Also, Martine, as I’ve said before and wholeheartedly mean, your comments on Twitter are what kept me going when I was thinking of quitting – and I’m really grateful for your support then and now.

*Blush*
I was just enthralled by the blog from the start. Seriously though, what you’re doing here is unique. As well as being a huge treat for all of us GoT fans, it’s deeply enthralling for those of us who love history. I can’t think of anyone or anywhere else who is even drawing attention to the links that GRRM incorporates into the novels and ergo the into show- let alone in the depth and detail one finds here. I hope GRRM is reading, He should be…… ! x

Aw, thank you! Now, it is my turn to blush.. 🙂 I really enjoy working on the articles – as a history lover, I’m amazed — stunned actually — by his level of knowledge and the numerous allusions. The more I dig, the more parallels I find. He’s truly a superstar.

Considering that some of the Websites named by the article should not even count (Twitter? Instagram?), I’d say Jamie’s site is one of the few elite scholarly GoT fan sites. I have learned SO MUCH about European history. This goes far beyond the novels themselves.
